ADVERBS OF FREQUENCE
A Word that adds to the meaning of a verb, an
adjective another adverb, or a whole sentence.
The adverb of frequence in englesh are: Never: 0% Sometimes: 40 % Usually: 90%
EX:
I never go out in the evening ( eu nunca saiu de noite ).
He
usually goes to work by taxi ( ele frequentemente vai ao trabalho de taxi ).
She sometimes read a book ( ela
algumas vezes lê um livro).
SINGULAR AND PLURAL FORMS OF NOUNS
1- Must
nouns add -s in the plural. Because they
follow the general rule.
EX: doctor (s); book (s); student (s); girl(s); friend
(s); camera(s); stamp (s).
2-Nouns that in –S,
SS, SC, CH, we add-ES.
EX:
bus(es); class(es); wash(es); much(es).
3-If the noun ends in r-y we chang to ies.
EX: country( ies); party(ies); dictionary ( ies)
But if the noun ends in a vowel and y they don’t
change.
EX: key(s); boy(s).
4- Some nouns are irregular.
EX: bread; child( children); person( people); man(
men); woman( women).

Non
cont: water, sugar, coffee, pain …
REMARK:
money is contable noun, but it is not used according to the rule, we say much
money but not many money.

AND PASSIVE VOICE
Active voice: express the action done by the subject
or we can say it express what the subject does.
EX: My dad bought a book.
Passive voice: express what happen to the subject.
EX: the book was bought by my dad.
NOTE:
if you want to say who caused de action use by.

this book was written by my teacher.
VERBS - PRESENT SIMPLE TENSES
The present simple express a fact that is always true
for a long time.
1-Most verbs add –s

2- Verbs
inding in s, ss, sh, ch add –es.
He watch-es; she wash-es, she love-s.
3- Go,
have and do are irregular.
4- He
goes, she has, it does.
